The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) founded it soon after his 622 CE Hijrah, or journey from Mecca to Medina. With the Prophet and his companions actively participating in its construction, it embodies the principles of solidarity, collaboration, and the spiritual underpinnings of the Muslim community. The Qur'an highlights the mosque's profound spiritual significance by stating that it was established on piety from the very first day (Surah At-Tawbah, 9:108). The Quba Mosque is significant for its religious significance as well as its historical significance. Two units of prayer at the Quba Mosque are equal to the reward of an Umrah, according to reliable Hadiths.
