Abstract

The Research Paper titled The Concept of Sheikh in the Contemporary Era: A Research and Critical Study, examines the linguistical and terminological meaning of Sheikh and explains his role as a spiritual and moral guide in the Islamic tradition. It also explores the concept and status of the Sheikh in the contemporary era, particularly in relation to spiritual guidance, moral reform, and the Sheikh-disciple relationship. The study presents a research-based and critical analysis of the contemporary concept of Sheikh and highlights the need to distinguish authentic spiritual guidance from practices such as blind following, personality worship, and excessive veneration. The research emphasizes that the contemporary Sheikh should possess sound religious knowledge, moral character, spiritual insight, and adherence to the Quran and Sunnah.
