The study of the journeys of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) is of particular significance for understanding the events narrated in the Qur’an within their historical, geographical, and chronological context. This article presents a research-based and analytical study of the journeys of Prophet Moses within the broader geographical context of the Ancient Near East, examining important locations such as Egypt, Midian, the Valley of Tuwa, the Red Sea, the Sinai Peninsula, the Wilderness of Tih, Kadesh-Barnea, Edom, Moab, Mount Nebo, the Holy Land, and Majma al-Bahrayn. The study demonstrates that these journeys were not merely geographical movements but reflected various stages of migration, prophethood, preaching, liberation, law, training, and leadership. Drawing upon the Qur’anic narrative, Tafsir al-Tabari, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Tafsir al-Qurtubi, and modern historical and geographical studies, the research analyzes the historical significance and geographical identification of these locations. The study concludes that examining the journeys of Prophet Moses within their historical and geographical context provides a clearer understanding of the various stages of the religious, social, and national formation of the Children of Israel.
