Allah Almighty has made the man distinguished from other creatures on the basis of knowledge and wisdom. He is bestowed with resources for acquiring worldly knowledge among which five senses and intellect are important but their scope is limited to this world. Beyond this, there is a world about which man cannot attain the knowledge of reality through his imaginations, senses or reasoning. Because the world hereafter starts from where the human intellect ends. Sometimes man finds some matters beyond scientific and material justifications. Miracles of Prophets and saints sometimes are against laws of nature or mechanics. Allah makes such matters to anyone by manifest by His power. Such matters mostly happen in the form of miracles and miracles from the Prophets (peace be upon them) or Saints, which beyond ability of common man. Karamat may accord by saints but it is not so common that each and every unhabitual act or magical trick of any one may be named as Karamah. Deep study of Quran and Sunnah reveal that certain strict conditions distinguish it from magic and other acts. In this article Karamat and some contemporary fallacies are being discussed.
