Abstract

The jurists of Ahnaf differ in compulsion of ownership in the last four heads of Zakat recipients. As for the current doctrine in Pakistani society, it is compulsory to pay the zakat, and make it ownership to the recipients. Having this compulsion it will not lawful to pay zakat to the hospitals, religious schools and other institutions directly. This paper discusses the viewpoints of jurists on this issue. It proves that in the last four heads of zakat, compulsion of ownership is not necessary. At the last, it mentions the impact of this research on Pakistani society.
