Abstract

Terrorism is a plague that has widespread occurrence in contemporary world. According to Islamic teachings, terrorism, in all its forms is condemnable because Islam is the religion of peace security and love which is derived from the root word "salam" meaning peace and obedience. It is crystal clear that this “Din” of peace and tranquility does not allow any kind of terrorism. In such circumstances, there is a dire need to present the true spirit of Islam and its justice system. This paper presents detailed arguments and evidence to control and prevent the causes of terrorism. The solution to this problem is described in the light of the principle of Islamic jurisprudence “Sadd ul Zarae". Sadd ul Zarae is one of an effective tool for eliminating crime in Islamic law. This principle can keep away the offender from committing a crime and eliminating the sources of terrorism from society because this principle not only encourages the elimination of the causes of crime and the blocking of its paths but also sets forth the rules and regulations for its prevention in precautionary arrangements. It is hoped that it would pave way for further research in the field.
