Abstract

Makhdoom Abdul Wahid Sevistani (1737-1809) was one of the renowned religious scholars and creative authors of Sindh. He had great expertise and knowledge in various branches of Islamic education. Beyaz-e-Wahidi is the most monumental book of Makhdoom Abdul Wahid Sevistani. It is the best of all his literary works. In this article, the biography of Makhdoom Abdul Wahid Sevistani and his work in field of Islamic Jurisprudence is mentioned briefly. Furthermore, the examples of Arabic and Persian poetry used by Makhdoom Abdul Wahid Sevistani in his book Biyyaz-e-Wahidi’s  Jurisprudence is discussed. No doubt, Makhdoom Abdul Wahid Sevistani was well-known as Islamic religious scholar but he was also a great poet and literary of Persian and arabic languages. Makhdoom Abdul Wahid Sevistani collected precious Knowledge from basic sources of Islamic knowledge as Noble Quran, Hadith, reliable and authentic books of Islamic studies in his book Biyyaz-e-Wahidi. He also analyzed the deferent opinions and explanations of the prominent scholars of hanafi jurisprudence in his book. This article also deals with his poetry and literary life in Persian language. This article is an attempt to explore his comprehensive efforts and importance of this book in Persian and Arabic literature perspective.
