Abstract

The Quranic concept of nation is quite different from other theories of nationalism. Qur’an divides the nation based on virtuous deeds and character.  Those who believe in the Almighty Allah and follow His last prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) whether they belong to different color, caste, region, sex, culture and speak any language are one nation. If someone claims that he is Muslim but he is characterless and possesses the habits and behavior like Hypocrites, he is definitely not from Muslim nation but will be included in hypostases, peccadilloes and polytheists. Likewise if someone is not looked like Muslim, but by character and practice he is righteous, pious, and virtuous, then he will be counted with successful.
