Abstract

There are four popular sufi orders in Indo-Pak one of them is Chishti order. Chishti order and their narrative and religious history have been an inseparable part of the historical, intellectual and ideological development of both the Indian and the Pakistani societies. Chishti order was founded by Khwaja Abu Ishaq Shami Chishti and the name of this order was derived from the village of Chisht in Afghanistan. The Chishti order is one of oldest and most popular Sufi movement in Indo-pak.. The most outstanding representative of this chishti order in subcontent is Moinuddin Chishti.after coming the Moinuddin Chishti, the Chishti order soon got popularity among Indo-pak masses and the islam was spreading rapidly. This order attracted Hindus, especially lower casts, and even members of lower scheduled castes into conversion of Islam.  Chishti Sufis live and work for a healthy social order, free from all dissensions and discriminations. Contact with the state is greatly discouraged. The cornerstone of Chishti ideology is the concept of Unity of God. The Chishti Sufis always remained inside the fold of Islam, and their mystical attitude was not limited by their adherence to any of legal or theological schools.
