Divine Mercy and its Scintillation Manifested Through the Rūmī’s Couplets: A Thematic Study

Abstract
This paper intends to know the concept of Divine Mercy from the most reflective verses of Mathanvī Mawlānā Rūm a treatise of valuable contribution dealing with the philosophies of metaphysical realm. It has been examined and scanned thematically that how mercy and compassion concerning anthropocosmic entities projecting the nexus among God, man and universe vis-à-vis social life and rhythm has been mentioned in the Rūmī’s couplets. We may observe thematically, Rūmī’s concept and its comparative review in relation to the other mystical thought and opinions with a brief historical sketch related to the subject notion. In this way we arrived at the conclusion that there are similarities of concepts in the spiritual heritage of Islam. This study also highlighted that the Qur’anic verses play as a precursor behind Rūmī’s message concerning the discourse of mercy spreading light of guidance for humanity. His insight is encapsulated with concept of compassion which is a panacea for self rectification as well as a way towards social amelioration in any particular context.
