Abstract

The transfusion of blood means "to extract blood from a human body and inject it into another body". The transfusion of blood is prohibited without any compulsion as it is among prohibited things in Islam. The Islamic laws and jurisprudence do not allow this transfusion of blood in the condition of choice. All the jurisprudents are of the view that the blood oozing out of the body of an animal of dryness is as long as in its body, it is sanctified just like all the other parts of its body and when it oozes out of its body it becomes unsanctified. The transfusion of blood is allowed only in the condition of compulsion as the Holy Quran the Hadith, and the laws of Islamic Jurisprudence and the viewpoints of the jurisprudents clearly elaborate the idea that the use of prohibited things is allowed and validated only in case of compulsion. In the same way the transfusion of blood shows the passion of sacrifice, brotherhood and fraternity. During the research after taking into consider an all the arguments I am of the view that the decision of International Islamic Fiqh Academy Jeddah about the transfusion of blood is close to reality and verity.
